Edith Gray

The 2011 St Mawes Pilot Cutter event was a special treat as the latest Pilot Cutter to be built arrived and we discovered that she had been built by John Raymond Barker, a cousin of Lois' and she is named after Lois' 1st cousin Edith Gray. I had the privilege not only to sail on her on the passage race from Fowey to St Mawes but the helm her at the start and for the first half of the race to Dodman Head with a termendous tussle as Agnes was on our tail all the way, I could almost touch Agnes' bowspirt - some feat when she is under full sail, all powered up. Edith swept the board at the prize giving. Great fun!
