Pilot Cutter Race

Lois and I sailed on Amelie Rose in the Saturday afternoon race around Falmouth Bay. The Cutters were in St Mawes for the annual Pilot Cutter Review organised by Adam Purser of Classic Sailing.

We had a great afternoon with quite close
racing between ourselves, Agnes and Hesper.

These three
cutters along with Eve of St Mawes were all built by Luke Powell of Working Sail at Gweek Quay.

I think that's enough links for now!
Enjoy the photos....

Fowey to St Mawes Race

Nick and Melisa Beck, of Topsail Adventures and their new Cutter 'Amelie Rose', invited me to join them in Fowey for the Pilot Cutter Review last Thursday. All the Cutters moored at Prime Cellars where a great party was put on by William and Arnie of 'Hesper'. Other Cutters present, with their crews, were 'Eve of St Mawes', 'Agnes', 'Annabel J', 'Polly Agatha'.

On Friday morning we set off in low visibility and fine rain, not as spectacular a sight for the locals as it might have been! The race was in two parts: 1 - Sailing in rain trying to get past Dodman Point and Nare Head, 2 - Glorious sunshine from Gull Rock around St Anthony and into 'mediterranean' St Mawes.

Visit to Trelissick

We have enjoyed a visit to Trelissick Gardens, a National Trust property just across the Fal from us via the King Harry Ferry.

Mary and Esther joined us and we had a great time. Highly recommended!

Summer Garden

Here are some photos of our garden.

Quite a change from the way it looked one year ago when we moved in.
